The transformation of the Republican Special educational complex N°1 into a Resource Centre was presented to stakeholders

On December 20, 2016 Association Arménienne d’Aide Sociale (AAAS) and the French Armenian Development Foundation implemented a discussion within the framework of the project “Improvement of services provided to children with behavioural and social problems”.

During the discussion, the vision aimed at improving the educational and rehabilitation services provided to children with behavioral and social problems and the transformation plan of the Republican Special Educational Complex N 1 were presented to stakeholders.
Pauline Decuyper, social worker (France) presented the French expertise related to the assistance of children with special and behavioural problems. The related Armenian experience was presented by the coordinator of project Nune Balyan.
Larisa Sargsyan, director of the Republic Educational Complex #1 presented the current services and statistics regarding children attending the institution.
During the event, the possible vision for transformation of the Republican Special educational complex N°1 into a Resource and Rehabilitation Centre was presented by Mira Antonyan head of the Child protection Network.
Mr. Alex Bortolan, Counsellor for Cooperation and Cultural Actions, and the representatives of the regional Child and Family protection Units participated in the discussion.
